Time Travel In The Legend Of Zelda OoT

• When Link picks up the master sword, he isn’t traveling forward or backwards in time, but rather horizontally to another branched timeline.

• This would explain the song of storms paradox

– adult link learns the SoS in his timeline

– then he goes to a different timeline where he teaches the windmill man the SoS

– this different timeline’s windmill man then teaches his timeline’s adult link the song, and the process continues

– this still causes some problems. There are 3 immediate possibilities that come to mind. 1) there is one unique endpoint. By this, I mean that there has to be at least one timeline that is different. This timeline would either start or complete the sequence. 2) there are 2 endpoints. One timeline to start the recursion and one to end or. 3) There are no endpoints. For some reason, reality only exists where Link learns the SoS in one timeline, and then reteaches it in another timeline. This option would still result in a temporal paradox.
