330: disconcerting Certainty

 one of most disconcerting 
 experiences of a writer 
 is experiencing a certain voice 
 that you your self 
 are not certain about 
 but you know 
 that the voice is certain 
 'cause you know that 
 whether or not you agree 
 you know that you don't 
 want to challenge them 
 at least you don't 
 if you're looking to win 
 'cause you know that 
 you cannot win 
 against such Certainty 
 but you are certain 
 that you disagree with it 
 or are you? 
 you're at least certain 
 that you're uncertain 
 at least you're uncertain why 
 it's really so disconcerting 
 way more disconcerting 
 than disagreeing with an idiot 
 'cause when you disagree 
 with an idiot 
 you know exactly 
 why they're an idiot 
 you just either don't 
 have the time or patience 
 to explain to them exactly 
 why they're an idiot & that's 
 why it's so disconcerting 
 to meet someone so certain 
 in their belief that you 
 so fully disagree with 
 or at the very least 
 you're uncertain 
 if you can agree 
 'cause in that moment 
 of reading their words 
 you know what it feels 
 like to be the idiot who 
 doesn't understand Certainty
