I should have been honest,
But I hid my fear behind a false certainty.
I guaranteed a lifetime of us
But only a fool thinks he owns the future

“I could never lie to you :)”
I can’t resist your truth-serum voice.
You are able to unlock my gates of truth
But

The only way is to lie to myself
When you unlock my gates of truth,
The only way I could hide the truth
So I hid the truth from myself
And and replaced it with fantasy.

I wanted the life I knew I couldn’t have,
So I pushed the truth to the side
Choosing the bliss of a life
Ignorant to reality

How much could I avoid if I was honest?
