So long I've disrespected myself
Because I disrespected my wants.
I will not neglect my desires anymore,
And I will follow my heart to you.

But I also refuse to disrespect you.
I want to give you my love,
But I can only offer it after
I give her my care and respect.

I'll respect my want of her,
While giving her the time and space 
To respect her own wants, 
And to follow her heart as I do mine 

I will follow my heart to my wants 
But I'll only reach for it 
When her wants agree with mine. 
But, I will live my life until they do
