untitled note | 23 April 2021 | “But with you…”

And I think I feel off just because of where I’m at on my circle. I’ve stayed in one place for too long, and every part of me has grown restless. I can feel something about to change, but I’m not sure what that something is. I’m distracted looking for something that doesn’t exist yet.

We’re similar in how we experience empathy. People aren’t aware of the weight their feelings bring into a room. It can be overwhelming, even becoming exhausted just silently sharing a waiting room.

But with you

In my experience, the weight feels lighter the longer you carry it. It’s not that the weight is disappearing, it’s that you’re getting that much stronger.

I bet there was a point where you couldn’t fathom even getting out of bed. But now look at you! A marriage, a masters degree, and a business are all yours! You’ve worked so hard that you’ve accomplished more than many will in their entire lives, and yet you still want to get stronger an continue moving!

The second part relates to how the weight doesn’t ever truly vanish. You’re strong enough to carry the weight now, but the thing so few realize is you’re allowed to put the weight down. Then you can use your strength gained from the burden to carry something you actually want to have with you.

You’ve become strong enough that it rarely affects you, but you still have to account for its burden. But the because you barely notice it anymore doesn’t mean it isn’t
