• We have failed ourselves by letting the system fail us
• Find someone who needs you, then make it so they don’t need you anymore. If they stay with you when they don’t need you, then you know they’re the one. If not, you have the satisfaction of knowing you improved someone else’s life, while also improving your own.
• I think one of the hardest things to come to terms with is how much misery we choose to have in our lives. Every life has misery, but we don’t have to give ourselves this much.
• We’ve come very far, but we just never realized how far we really have to go. 100 miles is still a lot, but it doesn’t feel like it when you realize the journey is 1,000,000 miles.
• Academics teaches you how to think. Experience teaches you how to act. A combination of the two is very powerful.
• A good leader doesn’t know that he’s right, he decides that he’s right. Unfortunately, so does a bad leader.
• Kids are fucking stupid, but so is every adult I’ve met. Everyone is stupid, so we should let children have a voice, because somehow they have a better perspective of the world than many of our leaders.
• The philosophy of body(science, natural laws), the philosophy of mind (psychology, logic), the philosophy of spirit(religion, morality), and how they overlap and compliment each other (described by, expressed by)
• Just because something is perfect doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. The world is a shit-show, but I still think it’s perfect. The conflict is hard now, but overcoming that conflict is what makes life worth living. Our world is perfectly imperfect.
• Love is a powerful emotion that we’re too uncomfortable with. Hate is an equally powerful emotion that we’re too comfortable with.
