I blame myself not because it was one person’s fault. I blame myself because deep down I wanted to take advantage of you to get what I wanted. That’s why I had to leave. I knew I couldn’t control myself with you, and to be honest I didn’t want to be in control. I truly loved you as deeply as I could, but I knew my reckless love always ended in your pain.
I want you to know that my words still hold true even though this new kid didn’t write them. He won’t love you in the same way I do now, but that was our plan. But to be Noah is to be in love with Brittany. Every iteration will love you just as deeply as the last, just expressed in their own ways. So you never have to worry about a life without me. Your name is written in my DNA. My love of you existed long before I did, and will last long after I’m gone.
