4Model of the ego expanded | 19 February 2021

5 aspects of the ego
1. Mind
2. Body
3. Spirit
4. Heart
5. Awareness -> Certainty/uncertainty

*in this model, ego = conscious Conscience
*therefore, this note could also be called “5 aspects of the Conscious Conscience

**conscious Conscience =! Consciousness
**”consciousness” is closer to “awareness” in this model

***the final aspect, Awareness, is not as certain as the other 4 aspects. It’s close relationship to consciousness fits well with this ego model
***I have decided to change “Awareness” to “Uncertainty”

(continued)

Aspects representation/expression
1. Mind – Logic/reasoning/rationality – Math
2. Body – the physical body – “the incarnation – natural sciences
3. Spirit – beliefs/opinions/non-physical – religion
4. Heart – feelings/emotions/desires – psychology
5. Awareness Conscience – comprehension of reality and its structure – in opposition/contrarian/skepticism/doubt/comprehension/understanding – “Science” or the “scientific method” i.e. A way to make observations and form answers around those observations through an external and objective process – philosophy – “Words”

°Heart = experience
°Uncertainty = questions
°Awareness = answers

3 aspects of being -> mind/body/spirit
2 aspects of conscience -> heart/awareness

Aspects of (being + conscious) -> 5 aspects of a person

“Consciousness is a complex functional system.”
“A person is a process.”

[*addendum

-Another possible name for this model is “5 aspects of a person.
-It could be said that a person is a filter on reality
-As a result “5 aspects of the ego” could also be interpreted as “5 filters of reality”
°maybe a better name would be “5 filters of Truth”

1. Mind – the filter of rationality – logic
2. Body – the filter of physicality – matter
3. Spirit – the filter of imagination – intangibles
4. Heart – the filter of desire – experience
5. Awareness Uncertainty – the filter of doubt – questions

conscious vs consciousness vs Conscience

-Consciousness is a scale/spectrum of awareness (awareness of reality/the process/self/etc.)
-conscious is a state of being found anywhere within the spectrum of consciousness (i.e. Any being that has even the most basic expression of awareness)
-Conscience is a being that exists at the upper limits of consciousness

-Life is conscious. It is a complex system/mechanism.
-However, life can transcend base consciousness.
-A transcended conscious being becomes a Conscience, also known as a person.
-[Conscience is a cognitive process that elicits emotion and rational associations based on an individual’s moral philosophy or value system.]
-An animal has consciousness, whereas a person has a Conscience

[*Divinity: what is it?

-It is what occurs when a Conscience transcends further.
-Divinity exists outside consciousness; its awareness of reality encapsulates the entirety reality itself.
-It not only fully comprehends reality, but it is able to freely manipulate reality to its desires.

-Although Divinity transcends consciousness, it too is a spectrum similar to consciousness.
-Another parallel between Divinity and consciousness is that similarly to how the upper limits of consciousness is designated as “Conscience” or “person,” the upper limits of Divinity is designated as “Truth” or “god.”
-What happens when a divine being transcends? What exists beyond the absolute God of all consciousness – Truth?

-is that what infinity is? Or is infinity even further beyond?
-is infinity the state of being of continuous transcendence?
-is a continuous transcendence what it means to reach an absolute enlightenment?
*]

-“Conscience” = “con” + “science” = “with science”
-Science is a process (e.g. the “scientific method”)
-It could be interpreted that a “Conscience” is created when a being separate/outside of the process cooperates “with science” (i.e. the process of our reality)

Free Will & Meaning

• A person is the summation of the everchanging process of life (i.e. Aging/growing/maturing)
• the past does not have control over the present or future. However, the present must take ownership of the past’s reality, which in turn steers the future.
• Although our reality is deterministic in the sense that it is the result of the logical sequence of “cause and effect,” the past “cause” does not have an absolute control over the future “effect”
• Free will exists only in the present. You cannot change the past, and the future does not yet exist.
• Although the present self has no control over the previous actions of a past self, a person has an absolute control over their own present actions.
• Free will is born from the desire to overcome the deterministic nature of “cause and effect” by allowing the individual to go against the logically optimized flow of reality
• A person is able to alter their reality through sheer willpower -> willpower is an aspect of our person that exists outside of our “cause and effect” reality.
• It is a foreign entity to our reality, and this separation is what allows an individual to contradict what should be an “absolute” and “perfect” system -> for a person is something that’s meaning of existence exists beyond its role as a component or building block if reality
• -> a person with free will is able to challenge the very nature of the reality one is currently experiencing.

• Meaning doesn’t exist because of reality. Meaning exists because we are able to observe reality as something outside and separate from us
• Reality is the sum of an infinite amount of meaningless data. A person is able to transform this meaningless data into the universe we experience.
• Free will is an expression of divinity. It is the ability to create something out of nothing
• The ability to create new & unique art inspired by personal feelings unable to be communicated
• (art is an expression of the artist, and is the mirror to the observer.) The universe does not give meaning to art other than its molecular structure a few physical properties.
• 100 people could find 100 different meanings in a piece of art, and every one of those meanings are correct, because those meanings came into existence the moment we interacted with something without objective meaning.
