I’ve been thinking about South Park a lot
And how it’s a lot like the other great cartoons
Like The Simpsons and Futurama
Not in the sense of humor or animation
But in how they create these microcosms
That encapsulate the human experience
So well that every person can find their self
Hidden in one of the characters
Like Me, recently realizing that right now
I feel like I Am Butters
This soft boy who’s a sweetheart
Who seems to be the world’s whipping boy
Where all these bad things will happen to him
And he just has to take it on the chin with a grin
And though admittedly funny
One of my favorite characters
Let’s not forget the other half who comes with him
Professor Chaos, his alter ego, his sinister side
Hidden inside ’til it’s time to make someone die
