Do you vote in political elections?
I try to, but if I’m being honest, I hate politics, so most elections come and go without me noticing.
I have mixed feelings on voting. I believe the majority of the time, voting is pointless. Almost no one votes based on research done on the candidates. Thus, the winners might as well be pre-determined. As borders & demographics have already decided which way the average voter will select their candidate.
That being said, I still believe everyone with any opinion whatsoever, no matter how uninformed, should go out and vote. No matter how rigged the system may be, I don’t think you should get to complain about whatever inevitable political shitstorm happens unless you’ve done the bare minimum to participate in politics & used what little sway you have to change the game.
Just because voting feels pointless doesn’t mean it always is. Even if you can’t vote for a miracle to happen, you’ve at least taken the first step to change things so you no longer need a miracle.
