Story 1
• Fantasy setting: a world where the oceans and atmosphere switch places.
• Highest/densest part of would be next to space.
• Reason for how/why this could be happening: 1)the earth is rotating at a certain speed that water is pulled away by cetrepedal force 2) some scientific reasoning (electromagnetic bullshit or something) 3)some magic bullshit. 4) that’s just how this fantasy world works.
• Considering reason 1
• How would this affect time (i.e. The day/night cycle). Would days be significantly shorter? Would we maintain a 24-hour cycle if we had a {2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 18, etc} – hour cycle. (What is the day-night cycle was longer {28, 36, 42, 48, 60, 150}- hour cycle.
• How would this affect people?
• Possible ideas: 1)It doesn’t. People live normally on the ground. 2)People are lighter. 3)It feels like gravity is reversed (falling towards the ocean above) 3.1) They built structures on the surface, creating a giant drop to the ocean. 3.2) They live on boats or construct floating cities. 3.3) Evolve to live in water. 3.4)Create cities underground, causing the crust to stop us from falling into the ocean. 3.5) the earth is coated in some electrmagnet material that generates a field that causes structures to float right above earth, but they rotate at a controllable rate (this could address how the speed of rotation could change with the planet, but remain consistent for the people)
