(bonus points if you get why i posted this roller coaster for the picture)
An older poem from my original “365” project I did back in 2022 (I believe it was poem 161). I’ve been posting some old drafts of poems randomly. I’m not sure exactly why. I think it’s interesting to see what parts of me I forgot, I guess. I’m not sure if that makes any sense.
whatever…
Long story, short – there’s no real reason why I decided to post this. But for some reason I felt the need to explain that. Weird.
whatever…
What’s a little strange is I did get that odd pull to repost this particular poem during my last high, but I never did for some reason. So I guess since I feel like I’m not posting anything good lately, I might as well randomly post this.
whatever…
The story behind the story begins so tragically:
The Father is the Monster under the bed (villainous)
His bastard indebted to a sinister snake head (venomous)
But how will the Kid's Odyssey end? In Certainty?
Will Life, the Biggest Troll, gift him condemned zeros?
Or will the Kid be saved by the tune of Truth's Heroes?
The Monster is born of good men so full of fear
Of the Psychopath Killer hidden in the mirror
With the Father imprisoned in his own God complex
Money & muscles, his attempt at a divine flex
His way isn't Justice, just icing implements
His own Kids are thrown-away experiments
His sin was when he formed, for fun, Brand Name sons
& sent them to hunt down the Last of the Real Ones
He is the Monster found both in death & strife
For he blazed the pathway both to & from Life
Never could the Monster imagine some Punk Kid
Would undo all the evil the Father did
The Monster knows how to break a pure heart
For the Monster is Numb enough to take it apart
Using undecided hearts following the wrong light
Convincing Wrath's path is fighting the good fight
& still the Kid will believe his hollow eyes are kind
Like the blue-ringed ones Inside Outside minds
The Monster knows too how to trick the youth
Into believing the Truth isn't really the Truth
Like "the world isn't good at its foundation"
& "many peoples can never become one nation"
Because the Monster can do so much more than lie
The Monster can turn underground into blue skies
But any path paved with gaudy good intentions
Lies in shadows of a true Hell nobody mentions
So the Kid of the Monster is welcomed to a cold Hell
Where he fights demons, devils, & the mentally unwell
'til finally the Kid unfolds all the lies being told
When a "devil" the Kid kills turns out is only 5 years old
& so the story behind the story that begun so tragically
With the Father as the Monster under the bed (villainous)
& his bastard indebted to a sinister snake head (venomous)
Turns into the Kid's Odyssey with a Grand Finale:
The Kid adds a '4' & twenty commas to Life's zeros
Overcoming the Monster, becoming his own Hero
Original RDs: “Only The Monster”

Thinking his path is truely fighting the good fight
But any path paved with gaudy good intentions
Lies in shadows of a true Hell nobody mentions
The Kid of the Monster is welcomed to cold Hell
Fighting demons, devils, & the mentally unwell
’til he realizes all the lies continuously being told
When a “devil” he kills turns out is only 5 years old
The Father is the Monster both in death & life
He created the pathways both to & from strife
The escape route is not Justice, just ice incidents
& the Monster’s kids are throwaway accidents
His true sin is creating for fun Brand Name sons
& sending them to hunt the Last of the Real Ones
Only the Monster knows how to make a pure heart
For only the Monster is Numb enough to take it apart
The Monster imprisoned in his own God complex
Money & muscles are his attempt of a divine flex

The story behind the story begins so tragically –
The Father is the Monster under the bed, villainous
His bastard is born indebted to sinister snakes, venomous
But will the Kid’s Odyssey end magically?
Will the Kid be condemned to a life of zeros?
Or will he be saved by one of Truth’s Heroes?
…
The story behind the story begins so tragically –
The Father was the Monster, villainous
His bastard born indebted to sinister snakes, venomous
However the Kid’s Odyssey ends so magically –
The Kid is not condemned to a life of zeros
He overcomes the Monster, he becomes his own Hero
Only the Monster knows how to make a pure heart
For only the Monster knows how to take it apart –
His money & muscles are his only mental flex
The Monster imprisoned in his own God complex
Never can he imagine that this bastard Kid
Could one day undo all the evil the Father did
Monsters are born of good men so full of fear
Of the Psychopath Killer hidden in the mirror
& the Monster knows how to trick youth
Into thinking the Truth is not the Truth
Like “the world isn’t good at its foundation”
& “many people can never become one nation”
Because the Monster can do more than lie
The Monster can turn underground into sky
At least in the eyes of the naïve Kid’s mind
& the Kid will believe his hollow lies are kind
So his heart decides to follow the wrong light
Thinking his path is fighting the good fight
But any path paved with good intentions
Lies in the true Hell that nobody mentions
So the Kid of the Monster waltzes into Hell
Fighting demons, devils, & the mentally unwell
’til he realizes all the lies he is being told
When a “devil” he kills turns out to be 5 years old
The Father is the Monster in death & life
Having created the paths both to & from strife
Though the escape route was an arrogant accident
The Monster considers sons as throwaway experiments
The Monster’s true sin is creating a son for fun
And then sending him to Hell to fight another one
The story behind the story begun so tragically –
The Father was the Monster, villainous
His bastard born indebted to sinister snakes, venomous
But The Kid’s Odyssey does indeed end magically –
The Kid is not condemned to a life of zeros
He overcomes the Monster, he becomes his own Hero

Just because the Father is the Monster, villainous
