I made a similar mistake. Memory is strange. As it fades, you start to notice the weird ones that won’t. & that one sounds like it’ll never go away. It might be worth your while to shoot a nothing shot:
“Hey, how’s it been!”
No matter how long it’s been, there’s nothing to lose. An ignored text is the same as 1 never sent. On the otherhand, you might just remember why you can’t forget her. Maybe not, but she convinced that part of you to risk letting people in.
If our stories share more than just a similar beginning, you might realize she’s the key you weren’t even aware you’re looking for. You might not even know what lock you’re trying to open, but with a girl like that, she’ll take you on a hell of the ride of a lifetime trying to figure it out. & the best part, even if you don’t, along the way you realize you don’t care, that’s just a bonus.
She even makes failing feel fun!
