There’s this funny little quirk
To my writing, my poetry
That’s a bit dissociative, ’cause
I write about a lot of strange experiences
& though they’re inspired by my own
I rarely describe an actual experience
Moreso a summation of my experiences
Captured in a story that replicates the feeling
Yet let’s me hide behind the character I’ve created
Of a Madman mumbling nonsense – since
Even though I mumble just as crazy things
It’s a lot easier to write from the perspective
Of someone just like me – but I don’t have to
Admit what I really believe & face the fear
My mirror inspires nor have to take it personally
