I’ve been playing Skyrim today
It’s been awhile
But it’s one of my favorite games
So it’s nice to be back in this world
Though, my favorite game of all time
Is actually its predecessor
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
It’s the first fantasy world I truly got lost in
The same love that people feel towards
The Lord of the Ring & Star Wars
For example
Is the love I have for the Elder Scrolls universe
Tamriel really does feel like a second home
So even just sitting with the game idling
Listening to the ambient noise of fires crackling
Mixed in with the subtle serenity of the soundtrack
Brings me a peace of existing somewhere
That actually feels familiar
When feeling lost in the real world
It’s not even the power fantasy
Of being the unkillable main character
Rather the freedom to be whoever I wanna be
& knowing that no matter what save file I load
At least the game will always remember me
