Today has started annoying
I’m donating again today

& it has not gone smoothly so far
Traffic was worse than normal
So I got to my 8:00AM appointment
About 6 minutes late
Which wasn’t really a problem
Since I wasn’t called up for about 25 minutes
Just to check in

All the checks & balances
To make sure you check out
But then, even after that
I’ve been sitting in my bed
Waiting to get pricked & poked
So that I can get this show on the road
Yet, now approaching 9:00
8:58 the moment I wrote this line
& I’m just about to get a needle in
So maybe when it actually turns 9
I’ll be pumping out blood & plasma in no time

& i just got poked
The process took a little time
Because they were training someone
Which I don’t mind – I recognize her
She’s nice, and has helped me up front
But I think she’s now starting to learn
How to actually work the machines
So in a way, I’m glad to be the one
To help out the newbies – I remember
How hard it was to learn under pressure
Especially with unknown eyes
Hanging on every hesitation
