Another day of donating plasma

I was a little annoyed this morning
Since when I went to schedule my appointment
The app said all appointments were taken for today
Making me think it was gonna be busy as Hell
But I decided to go in anyways as a walk-in
But when I got there, I was surprised to see
There were only 1 or 2 people waiting
So I ended to getting in pretty fast
Even without an appointment
Though, I wonder why the app
Wouldn’t take any appointments
Maybe it just doesn’t do it on Sundays
To give the workers an easy day on the weekend
…
Something of note this time
Is that though I’ve gotten
Pretty used to the needle
There are better and worse times
Where, sometimes, it’s more discomfortable
While others I can’t even feel it go in
Depending on who puts it in
Though, the last couple of times
It’s felt a bit more uncomfortable
Feeling it go in and while it’s resting
Though I don’t know if it’s because
I’ve just been getting unlucky
With whoever puts it in me
Or if maybe there’s some residual damage
Like scar tissue or bruising
That’s built up since even though
It’s random what side the needle goes in
Based on whichever bed I happen to be put in
I seem to primarily end up with it on my left
Though, whatever…
Something about this time
That makes me think at least today
It’s more about who put it in
& less about my arm
Is that I’ve had the machine, twice
Do this thing where it tells me
It’s not suctioning up blood
And that I need to pump my hand harder
Which I haven’t had happen to me
Since the first couple of donations
When I wasn’t really sure what I was doing
And still a little timid about having
A needle in my arm
So, since I don’t think it’s my form
That’s causing the mechanical problems
I have a suspicion that they put it in
At too shallow of an angle
And now the needle is having trouble
Sucking up my bloodstream since
It’s pushed up against my vein wall
Which explains both the suction issues
As well as the additional prickly discomfort
I feel every so often dance around my needle
…
It did it again for a third time
Though I’m almost done donating
So hopefully it won’t happen again
Though, part of me does want it to
So I can take a picture to show you
What it looks like when it happens
The squeezing icon changes
From red to blue
And it did end up
Doing it again
Though I do admit
I kinda intentionally did it
This time, at least, just so I could
