As someone who identifies as Trans
I believe in Trans equality
Obviously, although
I do have some gripes
With just how expectant
The Trans community believes
They should be accepted
By everyone
Instantly
Then if not
They’re bigots
Not just confused
And should just accept
Whatever they don’t understand
Just because someone they don’t know
Tells them something they’ve never experienced
…
& I’m not saying the hate is acceptable
The fact that we’re human means
We deserve dignity
Not that everyone believes me
Just that I deserve the freedom to be me
…
That being said
It took me 29 years
To even begin comprehending
My own existence – I’ve always been me
& never been afraid of LGBT
Yet I couldn’t fathom
What being Trans meant
Even while I Am living through it
…
I could never blame someone today
For doubting something I doubted yesterday
