The problem with modern sports
Really, any idol industry
Is that every team wants the next superstar
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard
“The next Messi” or “The (nationality)-Messi”
Only for them to turn out as duds
Because, the thing about forcing stardom
Is that everyone can feel it
It’s artificial, no real substance behind the name
Random kids with undefined potential
Are fed stories to pump up their egos
So they start acting like the shit
When they haven’t even started eating solid food
Hoping one day they’ll grow into their giant shoes
But then wonder why they look so clumsy
Running in a giant’s shoes with such little feet
