Random Thought #40: Ladders 2 Nowhere

I feel like being a part of society inherently makes you delusional. It gives you this idea of self-importance that’s unnatural. Nothing actually makes you a more impressive human by being the “boss,” yet so many people measure their success at life based on which rung of the corporate ladder they make it to before falling off & dying from the drop.

Nature only really measures success by whether or not you were able to pass on your genes: “survival of the fittest.” Even if you become president, if you don’t have any kids, then nature considers that drug-addict with 11 kids from 10 baby-mamas as the superior specimen. But people don’t seem to think that’s fair, so they create this delusion that “achievements” in life that are destined to be forgotten are somehow better measures of success than the DNA that will write the stories for generations to come.

My thoughts kinda took a tangent path from my original thought, and since I don’t really feel like pursuing this path any further at the moment, I’ll end with the original thought that inspired this:

“Everyone is delusional, some delusions are just more dangerous than others.”
