Donating today

I took a few days off donating
I could have donated yesterday or Friday
But I put it off until Sunday
It doesn’t really make too much of a difference
Since I’m still donating twice this week
Though, I’ll have to wait ’til Wednesday
Instead of donating on Tuesdays like I had been
But that’s not really a big deal
I prefer Wednesdays anyways

It’s been a slow start, though
It hasn’t really felt like it
My appointment was for 11
And I just got poked at 11:49
Pumping by 11:50, and recently
It’s only taken about 30 minutes to pump
So hopefully that means I’ll be outta here by 12:30
So long as I don’t have a long wait to unplug me
…
Things have been feeling positive this week
Like a turn has been happening
A change a fortunes
& a refueling of inspiration
Though I haven’t been writing much poetry
I can feel my philosophy really flowing
So it’s only a matter of time
‘Til my words start feeling
Like more than just their meanings

A sensation
Of pins & needles
Especially in Dexter’s thumb
Just thought that I would mention it

& I’m finished pumping
Meaning it only took about 23 minutes
To get out 701mL of plasma of me
Now they just have to fill me up with saline
& put the rest of my blood back in me
Then, just wait for them to unplug me
Which should all happen by 12:30
At least, if I’m lucky

I’m out by 12:26
So my prediction turned out right
