Random Thought #62: General N’§urance

One of the hard parts about reality is that your heroes are supposed to become washed up. It’s hard to see Shaq selling car insurance, but it’s part of the natural order. If our heroes stayed untouchable for all eternity, that means that becomes our limit. Our heroes are supposed to be the giants whose shoulders we stand on. But if we forever view them as gods, then that means we’ll never build over their graves. So, they take sympathy on us, either becoming sellouts to give you an out, or die young so we can have a pantheon of immortals called “The 27 club.”

I kinda began rambling. I’ve been drinking, so my words flow like my beer. But I wanted to mention one note of positivity, because even though heroes are meant to fade, sometimes you find the few who never disappointed you without having to die young.
