Random Thought #87: Ü Can (Not) Observe Something That Does (Not) X-ist

There’s frustration surrounding the fact that many scientific zealots assume their heroes believe the same things that they do, because they assume anyone willing to think will come to the same conclusion as them. Arrogance. That’s why you’ll see bumper stickers spouting ignorance like, “Religion: because thinking is hard.”

“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.” -Carl Sagan

If you ask me, that doesn’t sound like an atheist. Replace “cosmos” & “universe” with “God,” and suddenly you have a homily.

I’ll add in one more quote of a scientist who sounds like a believer:

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” -Albert Einstein

Seemingly, most atheists don’t realize that they made a choice, not an observation.
