Random Thought #153: Appeal 2 Authority

One of the biggest scams in Science is “peer-reviewed studies,” since they claim it’s what differentiates between Science & Religion, as if Religion is never challenged through a critical lens by its followers. Some of the greatest minds have been associated with religion, yet it’s often assumed that all matters of “Faith” are a result of negligent ignorance.

But I’m not even going to focus on the ignorance of Science towards the mechanisms of Religion, and rather on the fact that “peer-reviewed” has become Science’s expression of “Faith;” it’s their appeal to authority. Because the majority of Scientists who will point to a “peer-reviewed study” won’t actually look into that study. They pull whatever information that supports their opinion, then assume it’s correct since it’s “peer-reviewed” without actually knowing who those peers are.

They don’t actually do the work to make sure it’s true themselves. Maybe it’s because they’re not actually smart enough to be considered “peers,” and they just don’t want to admit that even though they spend all their time in a lab, they’re just as dumb as those that go to church.
