Random Thought #159: Gas-O-Lean

I have a very loose, unscientific hypothesis, that being which we have evolved beyond the optimal level of intelligence, at least in terms from the true human perspective.

This thought is relatively new & disorganized, so I’ll try my best to mention the key points, though they’ll probably be disjointed.

Tne thought that inspired writing this post was about how common it is for people to enjoy the smell of gasoline. To me, matters of taste & cravings are signs of subconscious manipulation of the conscious. I don’t know necessarily know why I want something, but I know I want it. What’s interesting, is that often times our cravings are associated with a deficiency we’re experiencing. We crave certain foods when we’re low on certain nutrients. We’re not aware that we’re nutrient deficient, but our subconscious let’s us know by giving us cravings for the things we need.

That was a bit of a background tangent, so back to the smell of gasoline; why do we enjoy/crave that smell? Huffing inhalents like gasoline kills brain cells. I don’t really want to continue with this thought since I’m running out of steam, so I’ll just leave with a question:

Why would our subconscious crave something that makes us dumber?
