Moonwashed Weekly Prompt – Sky-scraping
1st draft
Skyscrapers are scary
& I’m not even afraid
Of heights – nor do I
Need a nightlight as
Darkness never ever
Gives me a fright, for
It’s the light which will
Leave me like autumn
Trees – dead yet oh~so
Pretty; so what. do Ey3
Really mean? what. B
oh~so scary about those
Skyscrapers – especially
To someone not afraid
Of dying since I have
Never been caught
Lying – what. terrifies
Me about skyscrapers
Is that looking down
It’s impossible to see
Anyone’s face nor race
Just how they all race
Like insects – ants
In my pants – annoying
That’s what unites them
All – at least from the eyes
For the first time – seeing
Their actually size – reflecting
Off of a magic mirror even öDD
Bugs can begin to recognize
Alt. Draft

A fun fact: that question/this poem was inspired by the ending of: “Dead Poet’s Society”

Brilliantly penned, Noah and I agree with, Nicole’s comment.

I had a whole comment typed out; about to hit send, but funnily enough, Life decided to make an example of my comment & erase everything. I guess it’s proof how Life really does like to give us unexpected twists at the Last moment; with no explanation, haha

Don’t feel alone! I’ve had that happen too and seems it happens when my comment is wordy! 😠

I feel that, haha. I’ve had to get used to my words disappearing from my head just because my memory has butterfingers, so I’m pretty good at letting go of that annoyance/disappointment that comes alongside losing good words. A silver lining is that I’ve noticed that if the words were actually any good, they tend to find their way back to me; & normally are even better looking

Good point about words finding their back and even better than before. Sometimes, when I make a lengthy comment, I copy/paste into a word doc so it is not totally lost.

I’ll do that too! Like, I used my replies from when I was describing my drafting process as sculpting to make a whole new post, since I liked how well I was able to word my answers

Great idea! I call it repurposing. I bring back some of my older posts by changing lines and mixing in new thoughts. Anything to keep it interesting.
