Have we ever considered that all humans are telepathic, just with varying degrees of skill? So then, the real reason that language exists is to confirm our telepathic communication is understood on both sides. It’s not that words communicate, rather confirm that the communication is mutually understood; proven by crafting an objective representation of what is happening behind the scenes.
We can all have silent conversations with those we’re extremely close to, right? 🙂

Exactly! My first thought that inspired this was how twins sometimes make their own language, with the idea being they can understand each other because they’re so close they can read each other’s minds. Then I thought about my own experience, and how my mom will say something vague like, “can you get that in that one place” and I’ll know exactly what she’s talking about.

My husband and I definitely have that “that thing from that place” sort or inner knowledge of each other but the other night my son and I had a completely silent conversation right in front of my husband with pulled faces and a cocked eyebrow I asked if he had done his chore properly and he admitted he hadn’t 🤣 my poor husband was like, “What? what’s going on?”
