I would say I’m a “Christian” in the same way that I say I’m from Columbus. I’m not really from Columbus, just a suburb close enough to pretend it’s Columbus. Because nobody outside of Columbus has heard of “Groveport” or “Canal Winchester,” but most people in America know the big 3 Cs: Columbus, Cleveland, & Cincinnati.
It’s like LeBron: the Cleveland legend, from Akron. But nobody knew where Akron was until LeBron, so it was easier to choose the closest “C” city until his Name became bigger than his actual hometown.

Whereas faith is basically a cosmic highway map and we’re all just trying to figure out which spiritual roundabout we accidentally took while reaching for snacks. Honestly, half my convictions feel like counties I only think I’ve visited. But hey, if LeBron made Akron legendary, maybe our thoughts can invoke their own little hometowns civic Cathedrals. 🕍🅿️
