Sheetz update, since these tend to be the only random thoughts that make me seem like an actual functioning member of society, so maybe whenever it happens, I don’t choke to death on my own left foot…
So, here’s the update:
I’m probably getting promoted soon.
Becoming a “Black Hat,” meaning a shift supervisor, also known as the “Manager on Duty,” or “MOD.”
It’s nice to be recognized. I’ve always put in this kind of effort at all my jobs, yet even when my immediate superiors recognized my qualities at my other jobs, they rarely took the initiative to make me feel genuinely valued.
I’m not someone who toots his own horn: “look at all the hard work I’m doing!”
Ü should really pray in secret…
Back to the point, though this Sheetz post isn’t as coherent as I’d hoped, though, whatever.
I’ll go back to actually Talking about what’s been going on at Sheetz that let’s me believe I’ve finally been seen.
The cool little thing that inspired me to write this post is that, even though I haven’t been promoted yet, I was just included in a little “manager meeting” about new marinara sauce we’re getting (kinda funny since I consider myself the “Sauce Boss”). It wasn’t really anything too significant, just the fact they’re already holding that expectation on me is pretty neat.
Then, just to confirm, one of my managers pulled me into the office to let me know that they are, indeed, hiring internally for a 2nd shift supervisor, so I guess I’d be moving up in the world in 2 ways: from “Red Hat” to “Blavk Hat” as well as from “3rd” to “2nd” shift.
A little side note, I don’t really want 2nd shift. I like 3rd, even though I know it’s destroying me physically. Though, since I’m still young…enough… I’m still having fun pulling all-nighters. 1st would be nice, but 2nd has to come 1st, I guess…
