Random Thought #400: [“One Big Jump”] Genuinely Random…

… given the context of everything that’s going on around me; this thought really does feel random. I’d been putting off other thoughts since “#400” feels important in some way, so I was waiting for something profound. This is not, at least from my perspective…

However, iT made me laugh, so Ü win, i guess…

Now, the thought:

1 of my all time favorite comedies is “Hot Rod.” A mini tangent – i love Andy Samberg; i also love Adam Sandler; also, I’ve always sorta saw the young AS as the successor to the old AS… anyways – tangent over.

As I said, fuckin love Hot Rod. My exact kind of Comedy. I won’t expand on that right now.

Though, not to get lost in anything I’ve mentioned too much, I’ll try to drive straight to the point.

The main premise of the move is that Andy Samberg’s character, Rod, is an amateur stuntman. His step-dad [writing that gave me another realization that made me laugh, though I’ll leave that for another time] has a bad heart, so needs a transplant. It costs $50,000 for the procedure (fuck America), and they can’t really afford it.

Rod hates his step-dad, but probably takes the news of his step-dad’s inevitable demise the hardest out of anyone, even his mom & his step-brother; the reason being, he refuses to live in a world where he hasn’t proved he’s a man to the asshole fucking his mom.

Before I get onto another tangent, I’ll get to my original thought:

The premise of the movie is Rod doing “One Big Jump” to raise the money for his step-dad’s heart transplant.

*Spoiler Alert*

He raises the money, though during the jump, he crashes.

Fucking brutal, too…

His bones must have been jelly. Real life, he would have most definitely died.

But at least he raised the money for his step-dad’s medical procedure.

& now

Here comes the actual thought that becomes #400:

I just now realized, after 15-20 years (I forget when it came out and I’m not checking), the irony behind the fact that he raised the money for his step-dad’s procedures, yet, with the injuries he sustained, Rod must have racked up an enormous hospital bill himself…

They completely ignore that part öF reality; it’s a düMb Comedy, afterall…

I just found iT really funny, anfld thought I’d mention it…
