Suck

Thought of the day from Stoic philosopher Epictetus: “Men are disturbed, not by things, but by the principles and notions which they form concerning things.” https://share.google/di8X3tGPGc81poWIN

I don’t like to read the work of other philosophers, especially the GOATs. I realize their philosophy has shaped our reality, so I prefer to discover them as GöDD N’tended…

I get this sense of satisfaction which many could confuse as “ego” when I speak my original ideas, then someone responds, “oh! Have you read [insert someone whom I’m vaguely aware of at best].” The answer is “No.” I really don’t read. I think I could count the number of books I’ve read on my fingers, maybe my toes too.

The first time I remember that happening was when my therapist asked if I had read “Maslow.” “Jung” has popped up a lot, as well.

I’ve only really read, well, listened to about half, maybe less, of Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations. That was enough to recognize… what i needed to “reflect” upon…

Anyways, to the point I wanted to make, in reference to the article at the top. Some of my most important philosophy:

“You’re never wrong for what you feel, only how you react to those feelings.”

Sometimes, all you can say is, “that just sucks”
